B6: smart open folder window won't scroll horizontally
« on: October 09, 2014, 08:00:54 PM »
I'm guessing that this isn't new, but I've just switched to using the smart open feature so I'm reporting it against the v19 beta.

The folder window for smart open won't scroll horizontally when the folder nesting gets deep. See the attached screenshot.

The workaround is to resize the smart open panel to make it large enough.  There should be horizontal scrolling, too.

Update:  I've found that this window does get a horizontal scrollbar if you make it irrationally small. But even then the window isn't able to scroll far enough to see all the information.

The scroll bar comes on when it is absurdly small (and then won't scroll enough to help).  I'm looking into this.

This is fixed in the RC in the sense that it can be used now, but it still has a problem: When you've scrolled over to the right and select something, the scrollbar jumps back to the left and you have to manually scroll it back to the right to be able to see what's going on at the 'current depth'.  So as you go deeper and deeper into the folder hierarchy, you have to select the new folder, then scroll back to the right, select the next folder, scroll back to the right, etc, etc.
