Manually scrolling the project window to the right (in directory view mode) and clicking on any item unexpectedly scrolls the window back to the left, sometimes hiding the relevant items beyond the right edge of the window. This behavior gets in the way when you want to focus on a specific part of the project tree by scrolling the window appropriately.

It should only auto scroll to the left if you click on one of the items in the left column.  If you click on the right is it OK?

Attached are some screens that illustrate the problem. Screen 1 shows the project window after I've scrolled it into a useful position. Screen 2 shows what happens after I click on the file "coolfunc.h" - the view scrolls to the left and undoes my positioning.

If I click on the full path to the right of "coolfunc.h" the view scrolls to the right as shown in screen 3. Though in my case this isn't an issue as I never use these full paths for anything (can they be switched off?).

This kind of auto-scroll happens in many tool windows.

Is it possible to just disable it entirely?

It would be better if they would only horizontal scroll via arrow keys or direct manipulation of the scroll bar.

I've done what I can with it, but disabling it altogether disables vertical scrolling when you cursor down too.  So that would be bad.

Were any changes made? Just tried it under RC1 but see no change in behavior.

No, the only thing I can do with it is to disable autoscroll altogether, which I can't do because it would not scroll down when you cursor up or down.

Perhaps SE could include a toggle to disable auto-scroll? I only use the mouse when navigating the project tree and open folders so I won't miss the cursor up/down.
