beta6: Slient failure using old '"C/C++" Tag Files'
« on: October 16, 2014, 05:07:24 pm »
Hi!

Beta 6 (64-bit Windows) seems to have trouble opening / reading additional tag files I created for the Windows SDK and WDK with SlickEdit v18.  When selecting one of them, the file list is emptied while the "File list: N files.  Tag file size: XYZKB" caption remains unchanged. "Rebuild Tag File..." of course does not help as from v19's point of view there are no tagged files.

The obvious workaround is to recreate the tag files from scratch, but that's kind of annoying if you have a bunch of carefully assembled reference tag files...

Kind Regards,
 bird.

Were these language-specific tag files that were migrated from your v18 config?
Or were they compiler tag files?
Or, if they were not migrated, did you add them manually as language specific tag files?
Are the source files they are pointing to still there?

Yes, "C/C++" language specific tag files created from the "Context Tagging(r) - Tag Files" dialog with v18.  Not compiler tag files.  I don't think they were migrated as they are not located in the SlickEdit config directory.

Yes, the source files are still there. They are all local files.
