B6, Win64: Files don't update after compile
« on: October 24, 2014, 02:03:56 pm »
Sometimes I have a listing file open during a compile.  The listing file is not reloaded after the compile so I have to either click on a different program and then return to SE to get it to refresh, or close the listing file and reopen it.

It would be nice if SE checked to see if any open files changed after a compile or build.

Check your settings for Auto-reload (Tools > Options... > File Options > Load > Auto reload

Sometimes a network file will be slow to check dates on and it can time out and SlickEdit will give up on Auto-reload for that file.  Make sure you have the option to "Show auto reload timeout notifications" turned on.

So you don't have to switch away from SlickEdit and back, I recommend turning on the option to "Reload on switch buffer".  That way if a file is out of date, you will get the auto-reload notification as soon as you try to switch to it.

The listing file is a local file.  "Show auto reload timeout notifications" is already on anyway.

"Reload on switch buffer" is already on.

Auto reload after build added for next drop.
