B6: Mac Find dialog has graphic garbage
« on: October 16, 2014, 08:18:03 PM »
Open the "Find" dialog and move the mouse around the options (Match Case, Wrap at beginning/end, etc). As the mouse moves over the options, the text becomes blotchy and pixelated, and a line darkens over the text. The more the mouse moves around the options, the worse it gets. If you mouse away from the dialog it clears up, and starts over again when you mouse back. No clicks are required, just move the mouse over the options. This happens in one form or another in all the tabs (find, find in files, etc) of the find dialog, but not in any other dialogs I tried. It also changes from launch to launch of SlickEdit. The attached screen grab is one form the bug takes after mousing over the options several times. The line starts as a light gray and darkens as the mouse moves.

It doesn't happen on my Linux version.

RC1: Decidedly better, but there are still some remnants.

If you select an option checkbox, the check appears and the item gets the same pixelated blotchiness as last time, and there's a bit of garbage on the checkbox itself. It stays that way if you uncheck the option. If you move the mouse out of the dialog, or if SlickEdit looses focus, the dialog box cleans itself up and looks as you'd expect it to.

Yes, I've noticed that too. It has to do with the animated Find button. That tool-window is getting a lot of repaints as a result. It could be better, and it's on my list to revisit. Bigger bugs to fix first. ;-)

Fair enough. Minor GUI annoyances are pretty far down the list.

Rodney, I reported this problem in b1. I haven't seen this in b6, but now, in rc1 I see it again. Sometimes find dialog opens without any content. Sometimes it opens too small, or too tall.
