RC2 - is there an option to turn off "always on top". I found Tools->Options->Appearance->Tool Windows "Always on top" the option is not checked and it grayed out.

Before RC2 the windows acted just fine, I could bring other application to the top, and I could bring other slickedit windows on top of the tools.

I only checked Search Result, Preview.

Edit: I did not realize the windows were staying on top of all windows. I'll have to look at that. In the meantime you can turn on the option "Hide when application inactive" (View>Tool Windows>Customize, Options).

If we enabled the option, it would be per tool-window. Turning it off means that a tool-window can fall behind a floating window group. In that case you would "lose" it and have to start moving things around/minimizing until you found it again. All tool-windows in v18 were stay-on-top by default, so I'm curious which ones you turned it off for and why. Find and Replace is an example of one that I would never turn stay-on-top off for because I use it like a dialog.

In my V18 configuration the Search Results and Preview are flagged as "always on top", but other application where able to go on top of these tool windows. I understand that some windows an some configuration you would not turn off the "always on top" option.

FYI:
When I change V18 configuration the windows did not make any difference.

Just to confirm, for me too - floating tool windows are staying on top of other Windows applications and the always on top option for each tool-window is unchecked and unchangeable.

We will revert to the way things were parented in RC1 in the next drop. We will have to more carefully consider a solution to having floating tool-windows (not floating document groups) always-on-top.
