RC3: Only one real window?
« on: November 03, 2014, 11:52:38 PM »
My previous post: http://community.slickedit.com/index.php/topic,10756.msg45382.html#msg45382

In the past when I drug a window to the other screen, I would have two windows I could alt-tab and cycle through.  This allowed me to keep an open shell over one window and alt-tab back and forth.  This doesn't work anymore in Ubuntu or Windows - when I alt-tab to Slickedit, both windows come to the front.

Why the change?

Is this something that can be an option?  It was very useful.

Also when a buffer in the secondary "window" has focus and I alt-tab away and alt-tab back, my focus is in a buffer in the main window - this is a step backward.

Thanks

Rodney

I'm not in front of my Ubuntu box right now, but I can tell you that having the unified menu accessible to floating document groups AND supporting Alt+Tab switching is probably mutually exclusive. I have it on my list to revisit this issue.

Hmm, ok, it would be nice to have as an option.

The second issue was kind of buried in there so I'll start another question.
