RC4: No vsdiff window on Windows 7
« on: November 06, 2014, 02:59:26 PM »
Just installed RC4. When I try to run a diff, after entering file 1 & 2 names and hitting enter, no vsdiff window appears. If I try to close the file I was editing (file 1 of the diff), I get a message saying I can't close a file that's being diffed.

I'm looking into this.

Were you running it from the editor?

Yes, I ran the diff command from the editor, entered files to compare in the dialog, and then after OK to run... nothing.

Can you send me your vrestore.slk from your config directory?

I have the same issue.
I tried opening the two files to perform the difference from buffers and it does not present the expected difference view. I then tried the vsdiff application and it does not bring the differencing widow either. they both open the dialog box to launch the selected files. When the difference is launched, I see a quick popup of the differencing guase then it disappears and nothing else shows up. You can close any files associated with the difference due to an error being reported that differencing is in process. the only way to stop the differencing is to close the slickedit instance.

There will be an RC5 coming that will address this.  In the meantime, if you PM me an email address I'll send you a fix for this.
