Binding to Ctrl+Mouse events?
« on: February 05, 2015, 12:24:26 am »
Hi all,

I'm new to slick edit and haven't found an answer to my question in the forum or in the help.  I want to bind "go to definition" to Ctrl+LeftMouseClick.  The key binding dialog box doesn't let me create this kind of minding, and I'm stuck finding a work around.

Anyone else solve this problem already?

Thanks,
Jim

In the key bindings dialog, the command you need to bind to is called push-tag.  Select the push-tag command and click the add button.  In the dialog that pops up, hold down the CTRL key, then click the mouse button to the right of the red cross.  Select the Ctrl+lbutton-up event.  More info is in the help file.

Thanks, Graeme.

Turns out the actual command I want is "mou-push-tag", but holding the Ctrl key while clicking the mouse icon was the magic I was missing.  Thanks much!

I'm really glad you asked that.  I didn't realize how much I missed that until I had it back.  I remember fussing and fuming a few times when it didn't work a few months ago, and then just getting on with the job at hand.  Glad to have a frequently used gesture back.
