Java debugger hang
« on: March 27, 2015, 04:44:00 pm »
Sometimes when I cycle between debugging and not debugging, Slick gets stuck at "Starting debugger"

I don't have an exact repro, it just happens sometimes.

I can "stop debugging", then start it again and it usually works.

Its in this condition now. According to "procexp" VS has 5 child processes.
ntpinit: "C:\Program Files\SlickEdit Pro 19.0.2\win\ntpinit.EXE" \\.\Pipe\slick\14136.0 \\.\Pipe\slick\14136.1 C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe
    conhost: \??\C:\WINDOWS\system32\conhost.exe 0x4
    cmd: C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe
java.exe: java  -Xdebug -Xnoagent -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,server=y,suspend=y,address=8000 -classpath C:\Users\joe\Documents\JavaProjects\WinDU\classes\;C:\Users\joe\Documents\JavaProjects\WinDU\ WinDU

I have reproduced this mainly on Linux, once on Mac, none so far on windows.

It's really a slippery bug but we are try to hone in on this one.

Like you said, Stopping the debugger and starting it again usually does the trick.
