[Debugging] Autos/Watch: Escape-Sequence Characters in a String
« on: February 15, 2007, 05:55:43 pm »
When there are escape characters within a string, the way they are displayed in to Autos or Watch windows is to me confusing.

For example:
Code: [Select]
char text[] = "A \"curious\" 'case' \\in the debugger/.";
In the Autos or Watch windows it shows up like this:
Code: [Select]
"A \\\"curious\\\" \'case\' \\\\in the debugger/."
I wish it instead looked like this:
Code: [Select]
"A "curious" 'case' \in the debugger/."
Is there some setting I can change or is this just the way it is implemented?

Also, is there some sort of setting that would allow me to view things like \x80 as hex rather than octal?
