SE crashes after Windows 10 upgrade
« on: August 29, 2015, 11:20:29 pm »
I upgraded to Windows 10 and now SE crashes every time I try to open it (see attached screen shot). I tried rebooting, but that did not work. Any ideas how to get it working again?

Try starting SlickEdit with a new config (i.e. vs +new -sc <directory-that-does-not-exist>).

Thanks, Clark. SE opened fine that way, and I was able to import most of my option settings. It lost my history info, but that's not a big deal.

Is this a known problem with Windows 10 upgrades, or am I just unlucky?

No one else has a reported a problem with upgrading to Windows 10. I upgraded recently and had no problems. I suspect it's unrelated and was likely something in your auto-restore history. You might have been able to simply rename your vrestore.slk to get SlickEdit to start but starting with a new config is a way to try more with than just new auto-restore history.
