Reproduction steps are below. I am currently using OS X Yosemite.
Open Preferences
Click on Export/Import Options
Click on Export All Options...
Click on ... button to change the export package destination. Notice that the filename next to Save As: does not have the .zip extension
Change the filename and change the directory where the package will be saved and then, click on Save. The prompt indicates that the standard extension is ..zip (see attached screen shot). This should probably be .zip
