S-record files listed under source in Projects pane, v20.0.0.12
« on: January 05, 2016, 03:20:21 pm »
SlickEdit Pro 2015 (v20.0.0.12 64-bit)

I created a new C project for a Freescale DSP. Some of the files that I usually put in the project is the S-record output, just so I can view it handily. In the past, these were automatically placed in "Other Files" in the Projects pane. Now they are populated as source.

Should I just drag them to the appropriate virtual folder? Or, is there a configuration that should be changed?

Regards,
Jim

Do they have an extension that matches the Source folder?  And were they added via wildcard?

They were not added with wildcard. They were added with tree and file extension specifiers.

The extension is .s which is typical for Motorola S-records on embedded systems.

Jim,

It looks like *.s is already in the filter for the Source Files (I expect that's your problem). Just edit the properties and take *.s out. To do that, right click on the folder in the project view and select Folder Properties.

Thanks Tim. You were correct, the .S was listed there. I removed it.

I removed it and the .S files stayed under source.
So, I restarted SE and the .S files were still under source.
I closed the workspace and reopened it and the .S files are still listed under source.

Maybe this is a bug? SE is not refreshing the current project file list when the filter is changed.

The Custom View filtering is done at the time the file is added to the project.  There isn't any automatic re-sorting after modifying Folder properties, that might be an idea worth exploring when we get a chance to look at it.  If you right-click on the project in the Projects tool window, there is a command to Refilter which re-sort all the files on demand.

Thanks Lee. That was the final piece. Sorted correctly now.
