Can't jump to search results
« on: March 14, 2007, 02:02:29 pm »
I'm running SE 2007 under XP SP2.  I do a search (doesn't matter if it's "Find in Files" or just Find).  When I double click on results in the "Search Results" window nothing happens.  In the past this has caused the focus to jump to the indicated location.  Double clicking on errors in the build window still works.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I'm not entirely clear as to why this is happening, the current workaround is documented in this thread:

Seems that everybody is affected (me too).
But thanks to the greatest forum ever it's not a big deal, right ?

@Slickteam:
In case you're going to supply a hotfix to solve this issue maybe add this minor robustness improvement.
aliasedt.e - _validnewaliasname() [line 626] (v12):
Code: [Select]
   // HS2-CHG: don't allow '-' in_surround_mode (and avoid word separators confusing autocomplete)
   _str invalid_chars = '\(|\)|\$' :+ (in_surround_mode ? '|\-' : '');
   if (pos(invalid_chars,test_name,1,'r')) {
      _message_box(nls("Alias names may not contain (,) or $" :+ (in_surround_mode ? " and - in surround mode." : ".")));
      return(1);
   }

@HS2 - Thanks for pointing this out.

The right fix was to figure out why surround with aliases with '-' in the name did not work.  This fix will be in 12.0.1.
