How to setup subversion in SE?
« on: March 25, 2007, 09:52:17 pm »
I use SE 2007 and I don't see how the subversion setup works.

I'm familiar with the help:
"...  To get started, go to Tools > Version Control > Setup (vcsetup command), and set the Command line system to Subversion. After you enable these settings, you can diff any file with the current version on its branch, view the history of the file, and update or commit the file. You can also select Tools > Version Control > Compare Workspace with Subversion to compare your local workspace with the files in the repository..."

But where can I enter the url and the username?

Thanks for your help

My recollection of this is that it worked when you pointed to a working copy - so the URL is implicit in the working copy. I would not expect the user name to be an issue when you get an item for comparison. I have never used the SVN integration to do commits since the way SlickEdit uses it seems to be based on how CVS works and building up sets of changed files. Nevertheless, I have found it useful for simple file comparisons.
