How do you even set tab to different spaces?
« on: June 16, 2016, 07:11:48 PM »
Hi guys,

I am starting on a new project. I also use tab-ruler for ruler on the lines.

The other project members use 3 spaces instead of 4 for this project. So i have to use 3 spaces.

So far I changed following but my tabs are still set to 4.
  • Options->Languages->All Languages->Formatting->Indent is set to 3 in both boxes
  • Options->Languages->C/C++->Formatting->Edit->Indent->General is set to 3 spaces in each
  • Options->Languages->C/C++->Adaptive Formatting is turned off

Please let me know what else do i need to do to support 3 spaces. After all of the changes, the tab rules still shows 4 spaces and it still tabs 4 spaces.

My version:
SlickEdit Pro 2015 (v20.0.0.12 64-bit)

Thanks.

Did you try, Options->Languages->C/C++->Formatting->Edit->Indent->General->Syntax indent?

I can't reproduce this going back to that version of v20.

Does it do it with all files, even the ones you haven't opened in SlickEdit yet?  And if you go to a problem file, and go to Document -> Tabs, does it show the correct tab value, and does changing it there change the tab setting?
