Mini-Find edit field does not get focus on 2nd Ctrl+F
« on: July 26, 2016, 05:20:43 AM »
1) Select a word in buffer, perl file.
2) Ctrl+F => mini-find dialog raised – focus in mini-find edit field.
3) Change search term directly in edit field.
4) Search next n times, and leave mini-find dialog open
5) Select a different word in buffer
5) Ctrl+F => Focus not in mini-find edit field, but in buffer
6) Typing to change search term results in changing buffer content, not search term.
This behavior is inconsistent - Why does the focus not return to the edit field on 2nd Ctrl+F?

BTW: Feature Request:
There is a “search next” control element on the mini-find form.
Why not add a search previous element?

Focus is not correctly returning to the form there, that will be fixed in next beta release.

Mini Find does accept your key bindings for Find Next/Find Prev, those commands are available without have to leave the form.  With space at a premium, all the other search options are available through some keyboard shortcut or a drop-down menu.
