mini find
« on: July 26, 2016, 05:38:10 pm »
Find references doesn't clear the mini-find as I feel it should.
  • Ctrl-F to find something using mini-find, don't hit escape
  • Click on a variable and hit Ctrl-/ to find references
  • Notice that Ctrl-G and Ctrl-Shift-G do NOT navigate the references as you would expect
Couple other comments: once switching to the regular find it would be nice to be able to hit Ctrl-F to switch back to mini-find. Use Ctrl-F as a toggle between the two when appropriate. Also: if mini-find is open and I select new text and hit Ctrl-F it feels natural that the newly selected text should become the new search term just like it would have if mini-find wasn't open.

Good points.  Probably be better if we just dismiss the mini-find when you do a Find References.
If I have a chance I may look into to adding a toggle for the Find tool window to go back to mini-find, I don't know if that will be in next beta or not.

Last item will be fixed in next beta release, selected text will populate mini-find Find string if is already open, if you have the option set for that.
