Replace In Files: Preview All forces saving untitled buffers
« on: August 11, 2016, 12:43:06 am »
Setup a ReplaceInFiles.
Click "Preview All".
"Files Must be saved before search and replace preview".

It shouldn't do that.

Much easier said than done. This limit is for a number of features. Although, we always try to avoid it.

Just to clarify, the files it is asking to save are your modified buffers, not the files that will be modified by the search and replace operation.  There may or may not be overlap  The save is done to establish a baseline for the Diff.

I will put in a tweak for the "current buffer/proc/selection" case.  You should not need to save other files in that case.

Right.
I found SaveNone works just fine in this case.
