The "Color modified document tabs" option I had set in the previous version did not get carried over to the new version. Setting it fixed the problem.

I can't seem reproduce this. I'd like to test migrating your configuration.

Please zip up your config directory (.slickedit/20.0.3 or latest version prior to 21) and upload it to support.

Go to Url: http://support.slickedit.com

Enter 13903 for the case

Post here to let us know it has been uploaded

Thanks

In Options when you change AppColors->DocTab->Modified and hit APPLY, the changes do not get applied to existing tabs.

The changes will take affect the next time the tabs get rearranged.

So, what is Active, Modified, Selected and Unselected?

Active seems to be the tab with the cursor.
Modified is for modified tabs - overrides only the text color.
Selected Seems to be all tabs that do not have the cursor.
Unselected Doesn't seem to be used that I can find. ???

WRT "APPPLY":
Actually, "Selected" color changes happen immediately - no need to hit Apply.
"Modified" changes don't take effect even when you hit apply.

BTW, for Modified it would be nice if it had a "Sample Text" box like the others - really it should have two (active and selected)
It seems to be a PITA to find a color for Modified that works with the background for active and selected tabs.
The default, yellow on grey, isn't very visible on my monitor.

Even better of course, is to replace "Sample Code" in these cases with "Samples Tabs".

Thanks. I tried migrating your config to beta 4 and this setting got transferred fine for me. I tested the migration with existing files open and a workspace open with existing files open. I didn't think having existing files open in the old config would make a difference because the settings are transferred before the files are reopened. Don't know why this didn't work for you.
