This has been a problem for awhile, but I don't have very specific repro steps...
Basically, hold shift and click someplace in the text with the mouse.
It should select a block of text between where the cursor was and the mouse.
It actually does select it, but very frequently the selection disappears immediately.
Repeating the action usually works.
Very annoying.
