Current directory case not preserved
« on: September 14, 2016, 09:26:49 pm »
I'm running on Windows 7 x64 with RC1. If I run "cd Z:\usr6\bej\Test" from the SlickEdit command line, SlickEdit reports the current directory as "z:\usr6\bej\test" -- the case of the directory name is not preserved. This causes a problem when I shell some commands from within SlickEdit and they try to map this directory to the equivalent directory on a remote system where case is significant -- on the remote system I can't change directory to (e.g.) ~bej/test, when the actual directory name is ~bej/Test.

VS 20 does preserve the case. VS 21 RC1 is breaking some macros I have that need the correct directory case.

I agree completely.  Besides the issue of case-sensitive file systems, I have some long directory and names that are difficult to read when folded to lower case.

I tried to find an option to disable this behavior, but was unable to find one.

This will be fixed in RC 2
