RC2 still crashing
« on: September 20, 2016, 03:22:30 AM »
As I reported earlier with RC1, SlickEdit RC2 is still crashing with the following data in the Windows event log:

Faulting application name: vs.exe, version: 21.0.0.8, time stamp: 0x57dffa42
Faulting module name: tagsdb.dll, version: 21.0.0.8, time stamp: 0x57dff9a4
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x0000000000047e3a
Faulting process id: 0x1cd0
Faulting application start time: 0x01d212e64e3758e1
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\SlickEdit Beta\win\vs.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\SlickEdit Beta\win\tagsdb.dll
Report Id: a60e5b8a-7ede-11e6-aef2-60d819b77268

I do have a mini-dump, but it doesn’t work when I try to attach it here.  Is there some other way I can get the dump to you?

It happens every few minutes, causing me to lose all of my changes, which makes SlickEdit unusable for me.

I am happy to collect any kind of diagnostic data you need, or to provide any assistance I can in resolving this problem, which is a show-stopper for me.

The dump has been uploaded.  I had to append a .txt extension to the file name because it said uploading files with an extension of .dmp wasn't allowed.  I wonder if that is why it didn't work when I tried to attach the dump to a post here in the forum.

BTW..  I am running Windows 7 x64, with the Win64 version of SlickEdit.

Just let me know if you would like me to run any tests or collect other documentation.  This problem is very important for me, and I am happy to do anything I can to help get this solved.
