How to import a project tree
« on: June 08, 2007, 06:41:53 am »
Hi, I'm new here and appreciate your help very much!

My project is a tree with a few layers and 68000 files - part of them are not source. I create a project and then use add tree and choose a sub folder name, then Slickedit adds all cpp files from all sub folders under single source folder and all .h file in single head folder, lost my original tree toplogy.
My project files are from Perforce and I just want to use Slickedit to edit. I know Slickedit can support Perforce yet not sure how to set up.

When I use eclipse under linux, for such pull in, it can keep tree, yet often hang for large project, or report mem not enough.

thanks for all readers here I reply myself - this problem is due to poor ducumentation that would be improved for such basic function.
Right click on project and use auto folder (add folder on the pop up becomes grey). Then I can use add tree to pull in sub directory, although it may still pull in all directories at the same or higher level, I can select and remove them. Anyway the result is tree toplogy reserved.
Some things are odd. When I select files then add file button, it still pops up rather than just add this existing file. The s/w architecture seems need to be clean up.
So I can issue a PO now.
