Split Buffers, Project, and Workspace tool windows
« on: July 22, 2009, 08:15:21 PM »
Have separate panes for the 3 tabs in the Files pane so I can have a Buffers pane and a Workspace pane open at the same time.

@KenM I think you can do what you want by clicking and dragging the tab out of that position and docking it somewhere else in the interface (or leaving it undocked).

The tabs can't be dragged, they are part of the form itself.

@Ken, that's weird I just tried it and mine worked perfectly (see attachment).

That's the Smart Open dialog.
Ken and I are talking about the 3 tabs in the Files toolbar.
See attachment.

I would like to have the option to dock the File(Buffer)Tabs to the left or right of the screen.
Ok, you can already dock there, but all buffers are shown next to each other. It would be great if these buffers are shown below each other.
Just like 'list-buffers', except not as a dialog.

BTW 'list-buffers' is a dockable tool window. HS2

I 2nd all of Graeme's suggestions, except #1...but that'd be an option, right :)

I wonder why the "Files" tool windows has to contain the "Buffers", "Projects" and "Workspace" tabs.  It seems more flexible to have three different/separate windows for "Buffers", "Project" and "Workspace".  I use "Buffers" to select which file to view in the editors.  I rarely if ever want that window to go away, and I'd like it to occupy as little  horizontal space as possible.
