PowerShell Support
I've just upgraded to SlickEdit 14.0.2.2 and I'm very surprised and disappointed about the extreme weak support for the Windows PowerShell scripting language.
Since the release of Windows Server 2008 system administrators have to write a lot of scripts in PowerShell. Some configuration tasks even can't be done via the GUI, but by PowerShell scripting only.
The typical system administrator avoids to use VisualBasic for scripting because it is just an ugly programming language. Command Shell (CMD) scripting has very poor capabilities. Microsoft has addressed this deficiency and has developed PowerShell. It is also fully supported by Windows 7.
It is the 1-st time since many years that I find myself in a situation that I've to look for alternative programming editor.
