Spell checking while typing
« on: October 27, 2016, 10:20:42 AM »
I have an old macro for defining a TeX language mode. It is not very good, but it can tag heading names, and label names so Defs window can show the outline of the document and referencing a label can be code completed. Spell checking while typing does, however, not work. It only spell checks in comments. What should I do to enable spell checking in "normal" text.

At the moment, it spell checks comments and strings. For a few languages like HTML/XML/BBC it also spell checks normal text. I think this can be added as an option. It would work well if the color coding definition is good. We will add this to our todo list.

Would there be a way to add words from the tags to the spell check dictionary? Most of my variable and function names in comments are marked as wrong and I don't want to add them to the regular dictionary.

Good idea. Not an easy change though. Would have to spell check on a thread since tag look ups can take a while.
