The product looks and feels rather dated.

I have been a SlickEdit user since the mid 90s.  The product looks and feels rather dated.

Here is my wish list:
  • A lightweight native editor that takes less than a second to load which can compete against TextMate and other simple editors.
  • Import configurations from other popular editors, such as TextMate
  • Improve the usability of the editor. Much of this has to do with the look-and-feel (like tabs, toolbar) and the little details
  • I'd like to see SlickEdit on Mac and Windows make me just as productive as if I was using Visual Studio 2010 and ReSharper 6.1, but for other languages

ReSharper's code and styling support is extremely cool! +1 from me.

Additionally an improved (incremental) upgrade concept would be great. I find it a little bit annoying having to install a completely new software package with every new release.
