Slickedit v9 vs v11
« on: February 12, 2007, 08:56:56 AM »
Hi,

I work for a large fortune 500 company.
My company is considering upgrading our currently deployed slickedit installation. (We're using v9)

I was asked to summarize the main benefits such an upgrade would introduce.

Currently, we're running Slickedit under the SGI Irix platform, most of our coding is done with C++ and some with Perl. (improvements in the support for other languages is of little importance to us)

It would be great if you could point me towards a change log, or a similar listing of differences between the versions.

What are the key areas of improvement between the versions?
What do you like best about the new version that wasn't available previously?

Thanks A lot!

Tagging speed has been greatly improved in V11 (vs V9).

You can find V11 new features here:

http://www.slickedit.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=411&Itemid=57

Found these documents about V10 on the web
http://developer.novell.com/wiki/index.php/Developer_Tool_Review_-_SlickEdit_10
http://www.linuxformat.co.uk/pdfs/LXF67.rev_slick.pdf

They have some useful info.

Perhaps Slickedit team can point you to a more complete  document describing V10 new features.
