Forward path support for paths on Windows

In "Smart Open" on Windows, it would be useful if I can put in paths that have a forward slash: /

For example, if I put in c:/temp/filename.txt, I would like to be able to open that file, but it currently only works with backslashes.

I use cut/paste from logfiles with paths that have forward slashes in them (due to unix compatibility), and I can't cut/paste them into Smart open.
