De-couple alias expansion from the rest of the syntax-completion stuff.   I write slowly, but carefully.  So while aliases (content-triggered macros) are very useful, being prompted to select a term from a list is just a distraction and takes at least 0.75 second to do.  Usually more.

allow the completion features to be completely turned off separately

Apologies if I already requested this, but I just ran into it again while evaluating v20:

Pleasepleasepleaseplease allow the completion features to be completely turned off separately!

I make very heavy use of aliases, but no use at all of any of the other "completion" features because I find them distracting.  But I can't fully turn them off without breaking aliasing.  That appears to be true in v20 too (I don't know about v21, but I'm guessing it's true there too)

Document > [language] Options... > Auto-Complete > Enable auto-complete.

You can turn off Alias expansion, Syntax expansion, and keywords independently.
