Ctrl+' does not open associated file - v21.0.1.0 64-bit
« on: December 08, 2016, 04:13:31 pm »
In the right-click context menu, Ctrl+' is shown as a shortcut for Edit Associated File.

But, that shortcut is not working for me. I am using CUA keymap.

What kind of files are you working with?

Are both files in the project?

Do you get an error message in the status area at the bottom of the editor?

I am working with C++ and .h. Both files are in the project and open.

Now that you mention it, I see the message, Key Not Defined. I did not notice that before.

When I look in Options->Keyboard and Mouse->Key Bindings it shows that it is bound in default Mode.

See attached image.

Hmm, is it bound to anything in C mode?

>> "bound in C Mode"
I don't see any key-map configuration available under Options->Languages->Application Languages->C/C++->(Various sub-categories)->(Pages).

Also, I searched for "bind" in the Options search bar and it only shows up under Appearance->Toolbars, Keyboard and Mouse->Emulation, and Keyboard and Mouse->Key Bindings.

If you click the "Mode" column, it will sort by mode and you'll be able to see all the C mode bindings together.

OK. I don't see it bound in C-Mode.

I uploaded my configuration files. Actually, I wasn't sure which files are specifically configuration so I just sent anything that was NOT a .e file.

By default on Windows the configuration is in Documents\My SlickEdit Config.  On Unix and Mac it is in ~/.slickedit.

What I meant was which files. I didn't know so I just selected everything that was not a .e file.
Below is the list of files in .....\Documents\My SlickEdit Config\21.0.1 (disregarding sub-directories as you said).

I wasn't sure if it was all the xml files, sta files, dbs, idx, etc. So, I just sent them all. I see only one file file with config or cfg in it, "user.cfg.xml". Maybe you just needed that one. I didn't know so I took the nuclear approach. In any event, you should have what you need.

Just to clarify, you do realize that the binding is Ctrl+BackTick, not Ctrl+SingleQuote ?
