Problem with right margin not working

Good morning -

I've been using SlickEdit for over 15 years, so you'd think I'd be able to figure this out. I recently had to reimage a work computer and forgot to export my options, and now for some reason I cannot figure out how to make the right margin work; I can type right past it. I've tried every combination I can think of but for some reason I can't get it to work. I feel like an idiot. How do you actually do this?

tools -> options -> your language -> word wrap

Choose whatever left and right margin settings you want then tick the "word wrap when typing" option.  Click the help button for more detail.  Also, in appearance -> general  - see the "vertical line columns" option.
