GIT issues within SE on Linux
« on: April 25, 2017, 06:21:26 pm »
SE Pro 2016 21.0.2.0 H.F. 10+11 : Ubuntu 16.04.2

1. Right-clicked my project file in Projects tab and selected version control->browse repo and I got a slick-c stack:
 This property or method is not allowed on this object
svc.ex 9108 svc_gui_browse_repository()   p_window_id: 77   p_object: OI_TREE_VIEW   p_name: _proj_tooltab_tree

2. Right clicked on project file in project tab located at /home/tom/project/<proj-folder>/dir1/dir2/dir3/file.cpp and selected version control->history for file.cpp and got:
The file '/home/tom/dir1/dir2/dir3/file.cpp' does not exist

I will look into these.

You can still run the repository browser from Tools>Version Control.

As a workaround for the other issue, you can probably right click on the projects tool window and toggle "Show relative paths".

These will both be fixed shortly though.

The first issue is fixed for the next hotfix.

I am unable to reproduce the Diff issue.

  • What is your Folder View set to?
  • If you open the file and go to Tools>Version Control>Diff file with most up to date version of file.cpp, does that work?

So the history works for package but not directory/custom view.
It does work if the file is open and I go to tools->version control->history/diff.

You said history, and I did the diff.  Oops - but it sounds like they fail equally.

I'll test this tomorrow with a Java project.
