B2: Search Backward option is sticky with Brief emulation

After searching backwards (Alt-F5) for some string, and then hitting F5 to search forward, the "Search Backward" option in the search dialog remains on unexpectedly.  But the opposite works as expected (i.e. after searching forward, hitting Alt-F5 seems to always turn on the "Search Backward" option as expected).

In v21.0.3, hitting F5 always seemed to turn off the "Search Backward" option and Alt-F5 would turn it on.
