Multiple Open File Tool Windows
« on: September 08, 2017, 01:05:09 AM »
I often open files in various directory trees for data, source code, output.  I find myself moving up and down directories every time I want to open a file.  Would it be possible to have multiple "Open File" tool windows on the side panel?  If I could park each one in the directories I use most often, it would save me a lot of tree climbing.

While SlickEdit does support multiple instances of the Open tool window, it doesn't support multiple current directories.

You could add the most common directories to your "Favorites" folder in the Open tool window. This will at least remember your current nested location within the current invocation (not auto-restored though). It's pretty close to exactly what you want and will take a lot less space than having multiple open tool windows.
