Does voting work in the forums?

Voting for new feature work, could it be done in the forums?
Messages have a ThumbsUp/ThumbsDown thing - but that assigned "Hero" points to the poster, and doesn't seem to flag the message itself.
Better than a poll like this would be a way to +/- vote on individual posts or threads.

I don't think it could be done in the forums.  It would take a lot of software to add it to SMS SMF.  Just plus and minus wouldn't work because you can't tell how many people were in favour of something, plus many people (including me) won't be interested in making negative votes on things they don't want.  Also I'm in favour of adding things that make people want to buy slickedit so that slick makes more money... and can add more features.  It also needs to allow discussion on how something should work.  Also it should have a way of distinguishing between people who own a copy of slickedit and others  - "others" could be spammers or saboteurs.

Maybe there's some ready made software for it.
