Hang in FileHistory diff

I was looking at the diff of a file in File->BackupHistory.
I was jumping around a bit in the diff between the most recent version and the next version.

Then, Diff hung - I couldn't get it to do anything.
I saved a memory dump and I was about to forcibly terminate vs.exe, then I tried the close button on the diff - and it worked.
So somehow, diff stopped responding to everything, except the close button.
weird.

The confusion caused by this helped convince me that Slick was locked up.
