RC2: Many keys no longer works in find window
« on: October 03, 2017, 11:42:53 PM »
I am using Windows 10 x64 1703.

Non-ascii keys no longer work in the find window. Arrow keys, ctrl-c or ctrl-v, backspace, etc.

I was using it through remote desktop when it first started happening, but have since move to be at the keyboard. I also restarted the computer. The find window and the replace window are the only places I am seeing this. These keys work elsewhere in SlickEdit and in other applications.

This applies to both text boxes in the replace window. Tab works to move forward, but not shift tab to move backwards.

What information can I provide that can help troubleshoot this?

Sounds very odd.

Try a default config:
vs +new -sc <new-config-directory>

Have to rule out a config problem first.

Creating a new config allowed these keys to work. Should I attach a file from the current configuration? Which one(s)?

Tried your config and the arrow keys, Ctrl+C, and Ctrl+V worked fine for me in the mini-find dialog and the big find tool window.

Try the following:
* Exit SlickEdit
* Backup "22.0.0\vslick.sta"
* Delete "22.0.0\vslick.sta"
* Start SlickEdit

That has my arrow keys and whatnot working.

I guess something just got corrupted? Maybe because I was using Remote Desktop?

Anyways, thank you.

Glad that fixed it. I don't know how it got corrupted though.

You can think of vslick.sta as being a cache of things that have occurred. It's safe to delete but don't delete the versioned state file that is installed in your config directory with hot fixes since it represents an updated vanilla system state file.
