Linked Side-by-Side Panes for Wide Monitors
« on: May 24, 2007, 08:03:34 pm »
A feature that I'd like to see added to SlickEdit is a way to split the main edit pane into two side-by-side panes that are linked.  I want to read down the left pane, and then continue down the right pane, like viewing an open book.  The two panes should scroll together.  Line numbers, book marks, etc should be available in both panes.  It may be OK to have a single vertical scrollbar/thumb for the linked windows.  Ditto for the horizontal scroll bar.  This would make better use of screen space on modern wide-screen, high resolution, large format monitors.
