Recently there was a discussion of filtering searching files based on file size, and somebody mentioned using the file manager.

I looked at it and found that you cannot use the ordinary search functions to search the files in file manager, but instead there is an entirely different UI to search thru the set of files in the file manager.

Obviously, there shouldn't be a separate UI -- the ordinary FindInFiles ought to be able to use a file list one way or another.


For example, it should be possible to convert search results into a file list (the set of files found in FindInFiles, or even more obviously, from Search->FindFile).

Then that file list should be usable in places like FindInFiles, as a file manager file list, as input to create a project, etc.

Also, create a list of files from the error-list after compiling.

The I could do a search & Replace across the set of files that had compile errors.

Good ideas. The file manager already supports a file list but all the other needed pieces are missing.
