how to change php background color?

I searched and 12 years ago theres a 'did you know' which is totally wrong.


So <?php tags bring up some kind of horrid grey color, my eye cannot make out the text in the background color, how do I get RID of all coloring effects???
I need white and black, everything else is not needed, desired nor required.

What's the "Did you know" that was wrong?

Do you want to shut off all color coding, or just for embedded lanugages?
