Automatic archiving of the configuration files
« on: July 24, 2018, 11:05:42 AM »
I want to  suggest an automatic archiving mechanism for the content of the configuration folder, minus files like the state file and tag files. e.g. a backup every day for the last 7 days, then every week for the previous 4 weeks, then every month indefinitely back in time.

user.cfg.xml is backed up when it is saved.  There is no specialized mechanism for restoring old versions though.

ok, so can that be used to restore a previous configuration?  e.g. if I use backup history to open an older version, then save it as say x1.xml.  If I now close slick can I replace user.cfg.xml with x1.xml?
Are there any settings that aren't in user.cfg.xml ?
