Exclude binary files in v23?
« on: August 03, 2018, 03:17:14 PM »
I saw another post that there is now an "Exclude binary files" option for multi-file searches in beta v23?

But I don't see this option in BigFind. I looked in "Advanced Filtering", but that only has file size and modification time.

Does "Exclude binary files" really exist now? Where to find it?

In its current state, it is enabled by default, and the option is Tools > Options > Editing > Search > Additional options.   It has an issue when using with Look in Zip option with .tar and gzip files, which is being addressed.

We are making some changes to this in next drop on how this works to be a bit more configurable and make it more obvious that it is enabled.

OK, thanks for the pointer.

The first place I looked was in the BigFind, so my vote would be to put something in there. Either in the "Advanced filtering" or its own checkbox in BigFind.
