minimap scrolling granularity
« on: August 16, 2018, 06:54:42 pm »
The granularity of scroll seems courser than using the actual scrollbar -- seems like it oughta be the same.
I have a file with 976649 lines loaded.
Main window font is Courier New size 8, and displays 59.5 lines high.

When I very slowly drag the elevator the first scroll is to line 4104.

When I very slowly drag the scrollbar thumb the first scroll is to line 1164.

Changing zoom in minimap affects the scroll granularity when dragging the elevator, but not when dragging the scroll bar thumb.

its because the minimap must use unique pixel positions divisible by the font pixel height. Would be nice if it could use all pixel positions.

Also, the minimap slider is WAAAAAAAY bigger which reduces the number of pixel positions available.

Beta 2 will do better with the granularity here. This needs to scroll by pixels and not multiples of the minimap font height.

Thanks for noticing
