Find in "<All Buffers>"?
« on: August 24, 2018, 07:36:38 PM »
In all previous versions of SE I was able to open the large "Find" (Search/Find...) and I could select "Look In:" "<All Buffers>",  now it seems this is gone.  When I attempt to use the "Files" tab and use "<All Buffers>" it just lists the files--not sure what this tab is attempting to search.

What happened to the Find "<All Buffers>"?

Hmmm, it's still there for me.  Did you use beta 1 and if so was it there?  If so, do you still have it installed?

I'm sorry I have to ask this question, but I do:  Do you have any named files open?  I noticed if all I have are unnamed buffers the option is removed.

Click on the Bigger right point arrow to the right of the Look In: combo box.

I have a ton of open files.  Also, I see no "Big Arrow"--see attached file.

Also, I just installed the beta 2, no previous beta installations.

BTW: I am running Ubuntu 16.04.

For that Tab, it should be in your Look in combo box list.

The big arrow is on the Find in Files tab.

Could it be scrolled in the combo box? That shouldn't be the case, we haven't made any changes to cause that, but if you cursor up and down, that's all that is in there, correct?

Thanks for the screenshot, that was the piece missing.  <All Buffers> is typically disabled when Incremental Search is enabled, but probably shouldn't be when List all occurrences is also enabled.  I will have to double-check the code to recall why that check was in there to begin with to make sure there aren't side-effects of with All Buffers and Incremental.

Thanks for catching that, I missed it as well.  I did not select "Incremental Search" so I missed that point.
