Symbol highlight background color Beta 3
« on: September 05, 2018, 02:49:48 PM »
I have text selected. If there is also symbol highlighting, the background color overrides Selection and I can't tell that it's selected. Instead of using the Selection background color it uses the Current Line color.

Stated another way, I think Symbol Highlight is not inheriting it's background from the Selection and instead is inheriting from the Current Line.

I hope that makes sense. I find it hard to describe. But I'd be glad to try again if needed.

Please post your user.cfg.xml. That will give us all your color profile information.

Please post a picture if possible.

Here is a capture of the problem. First I select a word in the comment. It shows as selected and stays that way. Then I select a variable name. It highlights and then, when symbol highlighting kicks in, the selection indication goes away. https://youtu.be/YnRp8dE-Tts

Ah..different feature. I was thinking symbol coloring but it's the "Highlight matching symbols under cursor" feature.

This doesn't look as good as it should. I can reproduce a problem WITHOUT the current line being colored. It just never seems to inherit the background from the selection. We will look into this.

The color dialog does call this "Symbol highlight".  -- my head hurts  ;D
