Beta 5 does not respect "Show pushed bookmarks"
« on: September 29, 2018, 08:13:59 PM »
I usually don't like to see a marker when I navigate in the code, so I keep this option disabled. Unfortunately it does not work in v23. Not just in beta 5, in all betas.
I'll appreciate if you can fix it.

Works for me. Hmm..maybe I'm not testing this right. When I do Ctrl+Dot, no bookmark image is placed to the left of the line where I came from. Am I testing the right thing?

Post a screen grab.  Maybe you are seeing another marker type.

OK. Now that I try to reproduce it, I don't see it anymore. Not sure what the heck is going on. Next time it shows up I will post some screenshots.

OK. It happened again, on a different computer. Attached is user.cfg.xml from that computer and a screenshot of the bookmark icon.

For any marker in the margin, you can hover the mouse over it and you should get a pop-up explaining it.

In this case, you are looking at a marker for a References search.  To turn off these markers, go to Tools > Options > Context Tagging(R) > References > Highlight references in Editor.

Now for the bad news, I just discovered a bug where turning off the highlight option does not prevent the margin pics being created for references.  So, thanks for catching this, it will be fixed in the next beta drop.

Thanks

As of RC2, I still see these icons. What should I do to get rid of them?

Sorry, new option is "Show bitmap for margin for each reference".  This allows you to turn on/off symbol highlighting and the margin bitmaps separately.

Previous sets of reference searches on the references stack will retain the display options that were in effect when they were created, so if you want to clear everything out, you need to clear the references stack.   (Shift+Click on the X icon in the References tool window).
