Grabbing Text from Diffzilla (Mac)
« on: October 02, 2018, 12:31:09 AM »
Hi folks,
I am using Diffzilla to examine complete filesystem and registry dumps before and after an install. As such, I'd like to copy bits and pieces out of the dialog as I am using it to navigate to/from the different difference areas.
It seems like the clipboard is intentionally disabled during diffzilla operation. I have started to use screen shots to show the differences but I'm starting to be annoyed by having to do this lol.
I was thinking about just getting the text differences but diffzilla doesn't facilitate that either! Instead it seems to be geared only toward doing a merge.
Has anyone worked around these difficiencies (sic)?

Greg

The clipboard isn't disabled during diff.  Some commands aren't available in the standard edition but copy to clipboard is available in both editions.  Bring up the clipboards tool window before you run diff and you'll see your copied text turn up there.  In tools -> options -> editing -> general you can set the max number of clipboards you can have.
